Account Deletion

Delete your SMX account & data

SMX is a product of Abblor. You own your data and can permanently delete your account and every SMS message synced to it at any time. There are two ways to do it: in the app, or by email.

Option 1 — Delete inside the app (recommended, instant)

  1. Open the SMX web dashboard at https://smx.abblor.com and sign in with the email you used to register.
  2. Open the user menu in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Danger zone section and click Delete my account.
  4. Read the on-screen confirmation, type DELETE to confirm, and click Permanently delete.
  5. You will be signed out immediately. Your account, every paired device, and every synced message are removed from our database within seconds.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

  1. Send an email to privacy@abblor.com from the email address registered to your SMX account.
  2. Use the subject line: "SMX — Delete my account".
  3. In the body, include your registered email and (optionally) the display name on your account. No other personal information is required.
  4. We verify the request by responding from privacy@abblor.com and asking you to confirm by replying "Yes, delete".
  5. On confirmation we delete the account and all associated data within 7 working days and email you a confirmation. We do not retain copies.

What is deleted

  • Your SMX account record (email, display name, password hash).
  • Every device profile you paired (Android device ID, device name, registered phone number).
  • Every SMS message synced from your devices (text body, sender number, sender contact name, timestamp).
  • Every sharing / viewer relationship you created or were granted (the corresponding viewers immediately lose access).
  • Authentication sessions, API tokens, and JWTs — all are invalidated immediately.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Encrypted database backups: retained up to 30 days on our managed PostgreSQL provider (Neon) for disaster-recovery purposes only. They are not accessible to staff for routine queries and roll off automatically.
  • Anonymized request logs: high-level access logs (timestamps, HTTP status codes, IP address truncated to /24) are retained for up to 90 days for security investigations. These contain no message content and no email addresses.
  • Records required by law: if a regulator or court order requires us to retain a specific record, we will preserve only that record, only for the period required, and inform you unless legally prohibited.

Deletion is permanent

Once deleted, your account and data cannot be recovered, even by us. To start using SMX again you would need to register a fresh account and re-pair your devices from scratch.
